    Transparent SWF Output?

    glaustin Level 1

      Hi guys

I'm using AE to make a web banner and export to SWF. I'd really like the banner to have a transparent background. Is that possible from AE and if so, is there a tutorial link out there or can anyone advise me on the steps please??

Actually BG transparency is an embedding flag in the HTML code, i.e. a Flashvar. The only thing that might get in the way of this is AE rasterizing unsupported features and filling transparent areas with the BG color, but if you only use vector elements, this should work no problem. Otehr than that you can always create a PNG sequence and import it into Flash or Flash Catalyst and export your banner from there...

I don't work with SWF very much, but to render with an alpha out of AE, make sure you're rendering RGB+ in your output module. Until someone else chimes in whose actually done work like this, perhaps this will help.
