I use a 24" Acer H243H myself. Works fine.
I used a 22 inch Viewsonic before moving to the 30 inch Dell Ultrasharp I have as my main monitor, and the Viewsonic was bumped across to an other system in the same room and it looks dowdy and horrible next to the Dell. I use a little Huey Pro for screen calibration (which also does my second monitor) and what I print from Photoshop compares well with the Dell. Dells apparently use the same panel as the Apple Cinema screens.
We have two of that exact Acer monitor here at work. They are sitting in boxes unused. I like the price tag of that monitor the best but other than borrowing them from work (which isn't going to be an option) It doesn't look like I can get one of those.
I would test and see but the parts for my computer build are being shipped tomorrow. My concern is that I won't be able to finish the build by the end of the year meaning. I won't be able to take advantage of the taxe deduction for this year.
I need a monitor, win7 professional (i forgot there was that old OS thing) and cs5.5 production or just plain premiere if i can't swing or get adobe to give me an upgrade. I have various adobe products laying unused that i was hoping to call them and ask for a combo deal or something. One included cs3 premium, a bunch of adobe premeires and wondering if they still do a Final Cut switch over dealio? I have like 3 unused final cuts i will never touch again.
Thanks for everyone's suggestions
I saw this deal at Dell for a Planar Monitor 27" for 220 free shipping. It got great reviews but it isn't an IPS.
I checked out an LG - IPS Monitor in Bestbuy yesterday. I just wasn't impressed. The dell 24 next to it looked better IMO. Of course the Dell 24" is a discontinued model.
I am just not sure let me know your thoughts.
Thanks in advance
I use the new HP 27" IPS monitor http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/us/en/sm/WF05a/382087-382087-64283-72270-3884471-5163694.ht ml . Quite satisfied. Of course bright with MS Office apps but with PPro no problem. For screen calibration I would recommend a product like spider3.
