I've been working for years now with CS4, on both Mac and Windows, and have yet to encounter this error. Sure, mishaps happen, but I would bet it's mostly because of failing hardware.
Can you send one of your failing files to me? (Preferably a small one.) Least I can do is check if there is something wrong with the integrity of the file.
I see many other posts and threads with similar people and there seems to be no defining answer on why it happens and how to prevent. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
And in a nutshell that defines the problem.
I don't recall EVER seeing this happen on any of my own systems, and it's actually pretty rare around here, which leads me to think that the most likely causes are either conflicts with other software on your system, hardware (like bad memory or a failing hard drive), or some sort of user error, like failure to properly close files before quitting. As to what software might be the culprit if it's a conflict, have you installed anything new recently or updated something besides the OS?
Attached is the file that is providing the error code, and a screen shot of the error code.
If it's a hardware issue, how can I check?
Thank you so much for checking on this.
Attached is a screen shot of the error code. I myself have used InDesign for years and have never had or heard of the error code. Do you know how I can figure out if it is bad memory or a failing hard drive that would be causing it, or what things I can look for to see if that is the case. I have not installed anything new, or updated anything recently.
Thank you for your support.
Sorry, attachments don't work in this forum (haven't done so for years so don't fret about it).
I've sent you a personal message with a mail address.
