Dear All,
I'm not sure if this is the correct forum to post to but here goes. I wish to output to a Epson Stylus Pro 9880 colour printer, an expensive process with a 24 hour to 48 hour turn around for the technicians to produce it. The problem that concerns me is with proofing. I can reproduce the screen image with reasonable accuracy to a 'normal' printer, a bubble jet say, with the correct print settings, (adobe RGB colour profile, photoshop manages colour). But especially with dark images the same settings are wildly different on the expensive printer. I'll set up a test strip with various 'snap shots' at various settings, if possible controlled by the one adjustment layer, which takes a little doing.
The slow turn around, and cost, combined with deadlines is a pain. The problem for me is how to relate an image I'm satisfied with on the monitor with a print on the expensive printer predictably, cheaply and quickly as possible, especially with images containing lots of dark images which can be an expensive lottery.
Any suggestions?
