[scott] Dec 27, 2011 11:59 AM (in response to StudioPentimento)You simply can't.
Photoshop Layer styles do not translate to Illustrator objects.

Grant H Dec 28, 2011 5:16 PM (in response to StudioPentimento)just incase you dont mean actually bringing the "style" into AI, but how it looks in PS. If you convert the layer with the object in PS to a smart layer, then "bring" in into AI, it will retain the look.

StudioPentimento Dec 29, 2011 10:35 AM (in response to Grant H)Thak you Grant,
Just to confirm that I am proceeding correctly - I created the image in Photoshop, converted the layer with the object to smart object, placed it into Illustrator.
My observation is that the object does retain the appearance I need, but I can't select the object, as in Expand in Live Trace or Direct Seclect or Selection tool.
I will be using this image as a logo that I will be needing in a variey of sizes.
Any other tips you have for me?
