Report back with the codec details of your file, use the programs below

Did you reload your graphcs driver?
Did you re-load windows but not re-install your software? That would make a lot of stuff flaky.
Ive upated my graphics drivers downloaded a bunch of codecs but non e of them worked even seemed to slow both priemere and my computer now so deleted almost all of them but now bridege wont even seem to work any time I open new pictures bridge crashes but old pictures from a month or two back wont crash it
downloaded a bunch of codecs
That is a pretty sure way to completely destroy you installation. The best way to resolve this is to reformat your boot disk and start with a complete fresh install of OS and programs. Then check the codec of your MPEG's and Google for an external converter to make them editable.
Okay well a little update, I "upgraded" windows instead of totally wiping my whoe windows thinking it would help the missing codec probelm wasted 2 hours then uninstalled and reinstalled my home adobe package and it's still not working mpegs still showing up as a white image, and bridge is still repeaditly closing.
