    creating ranges of Numbers

I have been asked to create a table where each square has a number. These numbers will count up to a disignated point. Is there a way you can have Indesign Cs5 do this automatically? Something similar to generating page numbers? All these numbers will be on one page.

      Thanks

Yes but you have to cheat. (Some would call that "No.")

Generate the numbers in Excel and then either paste them into InDesign (sounds like it should work for your table), or for some other kinds of workflows, export them to a CSV file and run data merge, or export to a text file and place as a single story through multiple threaded  frames.

Some of the free InDesign calendar templates use the technique of using a numbered list paragraph style in table cells to create the dates. It works if the numbers are row-wise - left-to-right, then down to the leftmost cell on next row.

Search Google for terms like "InDesign calendar templates," "and 'InDesign numbered list paragraph styles," without quotes, for more detail.

            Regards,
