AVCHD Edit System (3 Disk Set-up and Computer Specs)

    tm-nader Level 1

About to pull the trigger on a new system and of course I am trending about $300 over budget which I guess I can live with. I just wanted to check here first and see if anyone can see where I can save a few bucks with little loss of performance. I also welcome suggestions on a better system set-up, especially component quality as well as what to assign to the 3 disks (i.e. SSD drive for OS drive 2 scratch disk ect..). My goal is to work with AVCHD material in CS5 mostly PP & AE. I tend to do a lot of transitions, keying, and some PIP. Projects rarely go over 30 minutes, most projects average around 10 minutes.
