Welcome to the forum.
I do not use the Pyro, but if the Mac is seeing it over FireWire, PrE should see it too. There are many Pyro users on the Muvipix forums, and I know that there are some DIP switches, that need to be set. I would post over there, and someone with that unit on a Mac will likely be able to tell you the exact switch settings that you need.
The program will not "see" the Pyro, per se. But it should register the FireWire connected device, and if you play your video into it, it should show up on the capture window.
That's the beauty of streaming video over a FireWire connection. It doesn't have to be a "supported" device. As far as the program is concerned, all video coming in as DV over that connection is just seen as a camcorder. (You just won't be able to control playback with the capture window's playback buttons, of course.)
Thanks, guys. It turned out to be that the firewire card was not well seated in the slot. Once I tightened that up and rebooted the computer, PE10 recognized the device as "Microsoft DV Camera and VCR". Once you know something "should" work, it doesn't take long to isolate what isn't working. Thanks again.
Great news, especially as that was an easy fix.
Thanks for reporting, and happy editing.
