I've never been able to figure out how to do this. If I have a composition and need to render out multiple ranges separately using the render queue how do I do it?
For example, I have a composition that is 100 frames long I want to:
1. Set my range to to frames 1-50 on the timeline
2. Add it to the render queue
3. Set my range to frames 51-100 on the timeline
4. Add it to the render queue
What happens is that I get two files with frames 51-100.
Is there any solution?
You need to set the time range in the Output settings. You need two instances of the render, each with different settings.
You could also just duplicate the comp and set the work area of the second comp.
Or, as you have found, you could use a script.
Thanks Rick. I think I found what you're talking about under render settings. Makes sense. But now after using the script, the script is definitely more convenient once you set up guide layers.
