Will CS5 handle the files from a Atomos Ninja

Hi everybody,

is any one using a Atomos ninja?

one of my friends has a Sony NX5 and wants to purchase a Atomos ninja and we need to find out if CS5 will be able to work with the prores codec/files from the unit.

For Premiere Pro CS5? No. You need Premiere Pro CS5.5 (5.5.1), which fixed all the bugs related to the Atomos Ninja. More info here: http://blogs.adobe.com/premiereprotraining/2011/09/adobe-premiere-pro-cs5-5-update-bug-fix es-mac-osx-v10-7-lion.html

Hi Darren,

I was actually using Premiere CS5 on the PC with the Ninja and the files worked fine. The "bug" was that if you recorded 4-channel audio in Ninja, Premiere would report "Unsupported Format", but if using 2-channel sound then the clips worked fine. This is all fixed in CS5.5 as Kevin pointed out.

Thanks for the clarification Jeff. You are right about that. You can change the Ninja to record two channels, which would create files that Premiere Pro CS5 could import.
