I just realized that there's a part missing from my screen that was on my coworker's and on a video i'm watching. At the point where you enter in your name, organizational unit, etc (Add Digital ID), there should be two boxes at the bottom-----Key Algorithm and Use Digital For. Neither of those are in my box.
I still haven't figured this out yet.
Is there anyone out there who can help?
I can get as far as the screen where I'm to put in my name, organizational info, email etc but without the Key algorithm and use digital for boxes I cannot go any further and have the process work.
Why would those two boxes be missing from my screen???
PLEASE I really need to figure this out. I have to help over 100 people set up their digital IDs.
I'm having this same problem! It's driving me crazy. I'm in a new position where I need to sign lots of documents daily. My IT department is completely stumped as well.
What happens if you create the digital ID on your cowworker's machine and then move the digital ID file to your machine and install it?
I had the same problem but what I did was when given the choice of "New PKCS#12 Digital ID file" or "Windows Certificate Store" I chose Windows certificate store. The algorithm choices never came up but it created my digital ID so I can sign documents. Hope this helps.
I am able to create a Windows cert. file but we need to be able to use the PKCS#12 password protected ones.
I've not yet tried creating one on a coworker's machine, but will and will let you know.
Check your setting on text size.
Right click desktop
Click Make text and other items larger or smaller
This must be set to smaller
If set to medium or larger, part of the Adobe window is missing
Must logoff after making this change
Hope this helps.
On some machines (usually laptops) with small screens the dialog that creates password does not fit the screen at smaller resolution and the bottom part of the screen falls off. This dialog is not scrollable. So, the only solution I know is to change the screen resolution so that the text is smaller and you can see the whole dialog. I thought this problem was fixed but maybe only in Acrobat XI/DC but not X.
