    .swf to mov

Is Adobe Director integrated with Flash so that I could import a .swf and output to .mov (QuickTime)?

Not really, but you could export individual frames to a folder and use them to create a QuickTime movie.

Thanks Sean.  There seems to be no simple solution.  There are tons of converters from flv to mov, but few swf to .mov, and they all have issues: quality, reading all the scenes within a single .swf file, etc.   Looks like Camtasia is my best bet. Didn't want to fork out the money.

i think you need a swf to mov converter.you can try bvcsoft swf to mov converter,it works great.also support swf normalizer and support extact pictures and musics from swf files..it can resize or keep the original swf video size with high quality.very easy to use.

you can visit their website to learn more infor: http://bvcsoft.com/swf-to-mov-video-converter.html

I would also suggest exporting individual frames as images and then make them into a video with another tool. I've done this with SWFs and using Director as a way to do this export process. Simply extend the swf sprite over enough frames and then do an export. Exporting to video over an image sequence, is not great as your frame rate may not be exactly right, you don't get total control of compression. So, having an uncompressed image sequence allows you to ensure higher quality and accuracy of your video output. If you have sound, you could add that when making teh image sequence into a video with say Premiere.

You'll need another "machine" to do the work. Not a real computer. Just a cheap external HD that you can load 10.4 from your Tiger DVD.
Use the stand alone updates (not Software Update) found at these pages to update to 10.4.9:
http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/ so you don't accidentally install 7.3.1 and avoid Leopard for the time being.
If your .swf files were published as version 5 compatible QuickTime Pro can open and export the video portion of the file. With Perian installed you can export including the audio.
Since you'll be converting to "video" formats the file size will increase dramatically unless you try to closely match the current frame rate of the Flash file. You'll lose any "mouse actions" and other interactivity also.
Another method (rather clumsy) would be to use screen capture software like Snapz Pro to "record" your Flash file as it plays in Flash Player or a browser window. SnapZ Pro has many QuickTime settings for saving the file to other formats.

you may convert flash .swf to .mov, but after that you can not edit the flash animation any more.
