RTMFP doesn't require Flex/Flash Builder. you can use any development environment targeting the Flash platform. RTMFP APIs are accessed in plain ActionScript 3. some RTMFP APIs require that the minimum Flash Player version is 10.0 or above (compiler/SWF setting), other APIs (particularly NetGroup and other groups related APIs) require Flash Player version 10.1 or above.

the developer key is obtained and used by the developer of the application (for example, you).
your application should not ask any other developer for his or her developer key. other developers' keys are for their use in their own applications, not in yours. your application MUST use your developer key.
