The directions on how to implement the Flash Player
cross-scripting security fix in Dreamweaver are unclear, as shown
here.
No problem replacing the FLVPlayer_Progressive.swf file (also
Streaming version, though I don't use it) in the designated Program
Files folder.
But what about fixing existing site files? Can't I just
upload the new version of the FLVPlayer_Progressive.swf file to my
site folders that have it, overwriting the older version of the
file that's on the server, and call it a day? (Naturally, I'll also
replace any instances of it in my site folders, too.)
The instructions say to download the site file, open it in
Dreamweaver, preview it in the browser, preview the item (the
"video" item I presume?), save the file, and re-upload it with
dependent files -- which all seems a bit convoluted to me and
didn't result in changing the file anyway.
It seems just replacing the FLVPlayer_Progressive.swf file
with the newer version everywhere it exists is a much cleaner
approach, so that's what I did. Am I done? Can I go home now?
Thanks.
