You must be on a Mac platform?
yes - am on Mac. How do I do it?
What happens if you use wav files in the project instead of aiffs?
ie .convert the audio files first.
..and why cant the audio post convert them if they particularly require them as aiff. (Cant think of a reason that they would need that).
Well, I'm not sure why it was taken down, but I'll reiterate my suggestion to use a PC here.
AIFF is the standard audio file format on a Mac. Just like Macs don't natively create AVI files, I'm not sure if you can get one to create WAV files, which are the standard on a PC.
So...you may have to use a PC to get your WAV files.
Macs are fully capable of creating WAV files through the QuickTime API.
That may be true, but the larger issue is whether or not Premiere Pro will use that to create them?
I'm not sure it will on a Mac.
Its not an issue whatever platform one uses.
Nothing easier on any platform than converting wav to aiff or vice versa...and is there is any necessity to do so. Both platforms manage both within the applications using them.
Lack of any response from the O.P shows how much it actually mattered when it came down to it,
Apologize for delayed reply - Thanks everyone for the inputs. Post asked for audio WAV audio - hence this enquiry. Haven't yet been able to create OMF with WAV on Mac using Premiere CS5. Awaiting confirmation from post team, if they can convert AIFF to Wav on their end.
Let us know how you get on .
We all have "ideal workflows" and pre-requisites but often they are for our own convenience.
A little conversion is not really an issue (and you will probably get charged for it if they are un-friendly).
