Dear Flash Users:
I have Flash Pro CS4, CS5, & CS5.5 installed on a Windows 7 64-bit desktop. The first two listed Flash versions launch without a problem but CS5.5 seems to run into an issue.
I checked the Windows Event Viewer which gives feedback on system status when applications load and I saw there was something wrong with this path:
Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Flash CS5.5\Flash.exe
Faulting module path: C:\Windows\syswow64\KERNELBASE.dll
Flash CS5.5 is NOT a 64-bit application so why the Kernelbase dynamic link library in a 64-bit path is faulting I do not understand. I am guessing only that this is a 64-bit path because for example there are 2 versions of the Windows cmd.exe. One resides in syswow64 and the other in system32.
Can anyone help me solve this problem with the application not launching? It crashes on startup giving a dialog that the Application Crashed.
Did you buy Flash CS5.5 then you are entitled to customer support, give them a call.
If you are using the trial version, you wil have to buy it first before receiving support...
I actually initiated contact with Adobe about this issue before you posted because I was fearing no one would respond to my post. Thanks for looking into it though. I was entitled to some support options which I could take advantage of.
Would it be possible for you to post your solution to the problem here?
I am having the same problem with CS5.5
