Greetings. I am new to Premiere Pro and also new to working with different frame rates in the same project. I am using footage from a Canon Vixia HF S10 and Flip video MinoHD.
The frame rate of the Canon .MTS files seems to be 60fps. The frame rate in the Flip .mp4 seems to be 24fps. In other projects in FCP, I've converted the .MTS files to Mp4, but I'm not sure if that is necessary in PP5.5.
My questions are:
1. At what frame rate should I set my sequence?
2. Is is advisable to convert the .MTS files and if so should I do so to match the Mg4 files exactly?
3. What other pertinent information should I have to optimize quality?
I appreciate any guidance without judgement on my limited knowledge .
Thank You ~ L

Your video drive is too full. The system in general is marginal for HD editing. You will likely have to lower your preview resolution in the playback options.
Ah... I listed the wrong edit drive, I actually have 87GB free, but you are right on that my system is limited. THANKS
You might convert to an intermediate codec that isn't as demanding as AVCHD or MPEG4. Do you have Prores as an option? It might be a pain pre-processing, but your editing will go smoother.
