Hi all, the company I work for is taking its first shot at a dual layer DVD authoring project. We need to send the DDP files out to the replication facility ASAP as the client needs the copies in about a week.
After dealing with the nightmare of dual layer break points and Encore, I finally move on to outputting a DDP image, check the DDPID files, and find they're version 2.00. Problem is the facility is requesting 2.1. DVD Studio Pro provides the option of selecting your DDP version, but I can't for the life of me find any way to do this in Encore, and I've been searching the web for hours on end to no avail. In fact, the ONLY info regarding Encore and DDP versions I could find anywhere was in a forum here, from just a few months ago: http://forums.adobe.com/message/3938731#3938731
Minu says Encore uses 2.1, but my own experience here prooves him wrong. Does anyone have any insight into this? Really don't want to switch to DVDSP and build the discs from scratch. Should also point out the company is only running Macs, and we don't have access to Windows in time to take the tried and true (and more expensive) route using GEAR software etc.
In case anyone wants proof of the DDP version, below is a screen cap I took of two DDPID files. The topmost one is from a test project exported from DVDSP as version 2.10, the bottom is the DDPID from Encore.
Any help would be hugely appreciated.
Jeremy
Quick update, replication facility got back to us and said 2.00 is fine, which makes a lot of sense. However, if anyone knows the answer to this anyway it would still be nice to know. Thanks,
Jeremy
