With the importer, I got the videos importerted in the first place. The problem is that when multiple track, let's say even 2 tracks playing video for a split screen. The performance is not at real time playback. I have after making the post updated the RED Rocket firmware and software, let me check out if there is any change in performance.

I have the same post on Adobe forums, but there is not RED specific response. I hope you guys can help me out.
I am working with native EPIC r3ds on Premiere Pro CS5.5, with Red Rocket installed on Cyclone Expander via x16 PCIExpress Slot, its also got a Quadro 4000 on the Mac Pro Slot 1 and one in the expander. However, the Mercury Playback Engine with GPU Enabled does not play realtime on the preview. Scratch disk is on a Promise Vtrak x30 via FC 8gbps via Dual Channel 8Gbps ATTO HBA.
The problem is as soon as I put another layer of r3d on the time line, Premiere pro just drops frames like its running on a Core 2 Duo. I have changed the Memory settings, Media Cache Settings, Sctrach Disk Preview etc. Still I get drop frames. However, when I open BMD Timeline, drop frames are still at 14fps.

I do not know if its a HDD or GPU or CPU Bottleneck. Need advice.
I have an old, but not really sluggish system and when using R3D material (RED 4K or EPIC 4K) I really need to turn down playback performance to 1/4 to get anything that resembles acceptable performance.
I did that, same issue. As per my CPU usage its only showing 10% of the total utlization. As far as GPU is concerned, its suppose to be using the one in Slot 1 and the RED Rocket is getting full bandwidth via GPU Expander. My XSAN Volume gives me performance of 120mb+ when a single track is playing. And as soon as we add the second track, the performance monitor shows 20mb speeds. Weird. FC is suppose to be handling multiple video streams anyways.
Got a suggestion from REDUSER.
Because RED ROCKET card debayers at full quality, either I need to switch off the GPU Expander completely or disable usage of RR in Adobe Premiere via Source Settings dialog box.

Yup, its working. RR switched off, lets Mercury Engine and Quadro 4000 alongwith the CPUs to do the hardwork that allows to play it back multiple streams of 5K footage at res and quality according to what the mentioned components can handle. The thing is RR can only debayer a max of 1/2 res of 5K footage anyways and because it is debayering at full quality its already working at 100%. So adding another track with the RR rocket enabled just wont cut it. Its said that when working with HDRx from EPIC (Two Streams of 5 or 4K video with different stops to give more latitude in the post for the same single shot is recorded by EPIC) 1 stream of HDRx requires 2 RR because its 2 streams, if there is multiple layer of HDRx lets say 2, then you need to install 4nos RR in the system to actually play it back at full debayer quality (thats why you disable the RR when working with multiple layer of r3d). Also to note that the lowest res you can go with RR enabled is 1/4, others are greyed out.
