Hi there, i have been using a canon 5d. After effects cs4. PC is i7 processor 6gig ram. Filming at full HD 24fps. files are saved as .mov. It takes so long to render and also to RAM preview. Also I am unsure as what to render it out as e.g. mov file which i have done but when played back comes out really blotchy. when i render it out as video for windows it comes out glitchy and slow. I am wanting to put it on usb to show people my final clip and maybe also post it on youtube but cant get it to look right, any help would be much appreciated.
Since you're using AE 9, you have to convert the H.264 video to something that doesn't have a long-gop codec. I'm a Mac guy, and I like Quicktime's PNG codec, which is lossless.
How do you get around the conversion? Get yourself a newer version of AE.
thanks Dave, I'm using PC but I do have a nice Mac setup for audio, I havent got cs4 for Mac otherwise I would be using that all the time. I will try PNG codec. I don't really know about conversion.
Take a look at Magic Bullet Grinder. I's perfect for transcoding DSLR Footage. In fact, that's all it does.
