Well I've narrowed down the problem to the fact that it is only happening to .aif files...

Wild guess: You did not wait for the peak file creation to finish. Or you only put the video part on your timeline, disregarding the audio, or your source material is not suitable for editing, or it was OE, or ....
Many possible reasons that are almost impossible to answer without details.
Where is the 'Reveal in Explorer' option? I know where 'Reveal in Project' is, but in Explorer?
PS. your post came at the same time as my response. Did not see the .aif info earlier. Try using .wav files instead.
Reveal in Explorer (or Finder for Mac) comes up when you right click on the item in the Project Window.
I didn't want to have to convert all these files to .wav if I didn't have to. I am wondering what the issue might be so I don't have to add that to my workflow (especially in the future, though I'll probably end up doing it, I would still like to find the problem)
This project comes from an older version of Premiere I had installed, and now I have CS5... Why would it stop recognizing .aif files?
