Would it be possible for you to share any PDF with such an issue?
You can upload the same at acrobat.com or likewise, and share the same with me.
I am also experiencing a similar issue. In this case I have PDFs that consist of multiple pages all containing images. Most pages are visible within Acrobat Reader X, however certain pages get the "Internal Error" mentioned above. To complicate matters, when viewing the same PDF within Mac's 'preview' app or when utilizing Google Chrome's built in pdf viewer the page that recieves the error is fine (visible and no errors). I can provide a sample document.
Thank you for any help you can provide.
I tried it also with chrome. In my document there´s also no error. Further I could save the document and print it. I try to get a sample document which I can give you.
I've attached a PDF which illustrates this issue. Note page 1 and 3 are visible within Acrobat Reader X, page 2 gets the "An internal error occured." error message. While all 3 pages are viewable within Chrome's PDF reader without error.
I´ve also attached a PDF. Some more tests with adobe reader 9 and 10 shows the problem is probably the jpg in the pdf.
But the question is why does it work under version 9. We have open these Documents with version 10.
This type of document is in our archive. It is not possible to change these documents. The only way to change them is to create a new archive and recreate all documents. If this is the only way we have to recreate about over 180000 documents. This could only be the last appoach.
Sorry I don´t know how do attache a Document. I can´t find a upload Link. How should I send the PDF document?
is in this case any new information available?
I am analyzing the issue at our end and will get back to you.
I am having a real similar issue. We have an application that exports reports to PDF and have been using it fine untill Customers upgraded their Reader from 9 or earlier to X. The Reports have an image at the top of the page and that renders fine but all text boxes on the first page fail to render and we get an "internal error" dialog. All the pages after the first complete fine. One more note is that if I Zoom out to 50% I can see the first page fine. But when I zoom back in past 50% the page goes away. Printing also fails to print the first page and completes any subsequent pages.
are there any news in this case?
It may not be your answer but I encountered the "internal error" message you described on some documents
For me, disabling protected mode as described in following link solved it
According to this, "protected mode" is a new feature in X, it could explain your 9.0, X behavior difference http://blogs.adobe.com/livecycle/2010/11/technical-details-of-adobe-reader-x-protected-mod e.html
Interestingly, right clicking a file, selecting "Open with Adobe Reader X" would trigger "internal error" for me on the affected documents. But right clicking, selecting "open with" and then "Adobe Reader" did not. Go figure. Also, opening from the reader's file menu worked.
I imagine disabling protected mode reduces your system security, so that is something to consider
