Welcome to the forum.
If you purchased a download, you should be able to go to Adobe.com, log in with your account, and then see your purchases. The download link for the purchased PrPro CS5 should still be there.
If not, then you might want to try ProDesign Tools, as they have a lot of trials of older Adobe software. IIRC, the trial for CS5 can be converted to the full-paid, just by adding in the S/N, but others (with better memories) can either verify, or refute that.
Many thanks for the suggestion to look in ProDesign Tools but every Premiere Pro CS5 link I could find finished up at the Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5 download page. Thre were 5 and 5.5 versions of some other products, though.
Well... did you originally purchase via download?
Or did you buy the boxed product which you have now lost?
Have you clicked on 'My Orders' at the top of this page? If you are using this forum you must be logged in.
Thanks for asking. I should have made it clear in my original post that I've lost the original disks and want to install on a new computer. I'd bough the product retail so it's not listed in 'My Orders'. I contacted Adobe and they told me the only way to solve the problem was to spend £200 on an upgrade to CS5.5. One wonders what the point is of buying legit software.

Well, it is not Adobe's fault that you lost your discs
People lose things all the time. The question is whether Adobe wants to support its customers or milk them. And the answer to this seems ambiguous, since all the CS6 software is downloadable from adobe.com.
Reasonable_Northerner, if you're still in need, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I just found my DVDs after an hour of looking. Maybe I can help you out, since Adobe won't.
Perhaps this page will help: http://prodesigntools.com/all-adobe-cs5-direct-download-links.html.
I didn't go so far as to download anything, but from the name of the files they look like what you want.
I'm getting error pages on all the links in the table. And the ones in the text go to CC pages.
Which ones did you try? Both the Windows and Mac installers for Premiere Pro are downloading fine for me as I type. My browser is Firefox 22.0 on Mac 10.8.4.
Many thanks for this suggestion but just like Walt I couldn’t get the links to work. I received the error message “You don't have permission to access "http://trials2.adobe.com/AdobeProducts/PPRO/5/osx10/PremierePro_5_LS7.dmg" on this server.”
Thanks for pointing this out. I have now got the download links to work – I stopped getting error messages when I logged out of and then back into
The Adobe ID service. And thank you Walt for your kind offer.
Well, on my personal computer I hit the same error message. I can't explain why I was able to download the CS5 installers on my MBP. This laptop was issued to my by Adobe, but it's brand new and I've never even logged onto the network with it yet. I'm certainly not inside the firewall. Perhaps something that IT installed on it gave me keys to the ProDesignTools kingdom.
Sorry for the false lead.
edited: Oh, just saw your latest post, R_N. Glad you got it to work. Now I gotta try logging out and back in on my personal machine!
Not to Mark, just using the last message as a way to reply
To ANYONE who downloads large/expensive software... you need to IMMEDIATELY write the file(s) to a DVD, along with a text file containing your serial number, so you don't lose the file(s) in case of a hard disk crash
Maybe write TWO in case you lose a DVD... and, of course, put them in different places
I tried logging in to My Adobe several times on different browsers, and also logged in to start a CC download, but couldn't shake the error messages.
But that doesn't matter, because I found my disks.
It would be interesting to know the magic key though. And I'm glad everyone's problems got solved. Thanks for the support, Mark.
