I use a free version of adobe reader. Some of the forum posts suggests that without author's permission it is not possible to save a file if the file is locked by the author. I saved a file in pdf straightforward clicking the save icon using adobe reader X 10.1.1 from another computer .
After I updated adobe to the new version X 10.1.2 today as I clicked the save icon , it appeared to go unaccessible as if the file had been saved. But I can't find it anywhere in my laptop! There is no option in tools for saving but there are options for converting. I can't even go back to 10.1.1 as this version is not available the the 'Download an old version' option.
Can anyone please suggest how to save a file in (.pdf ) using adobe reader X 10.1.2 ?
To save, you click on the File menu then point to Save > PDF
Alternatively, press CTRL + SHIFT + S at the same time.
If you want to downgrade to Adobe Reader 10.1.1 - it is possible. You can download it from the Adobe FTP site.
Adobe 10.1.2 contains important security related fixes so my advice would be to continue using 10.1.2 and try to resolve the issue.
