I just noticed that my cursor position is not showing when I work in illustrator.  I've looked through all the settings and tried to find information on the web but am having problems.  I'm using CS5.5.

Thanks for your help.

Shown in what way?

The cursor position is shown in the Info Panel (Window > Info)

Or if you turn on Smart Guides (View > SmartGuides) You'll see things like anchor positions or distances when drawing, but it's not really the cursor position specifically.

Hi Scott,

You are awesome!  It was the view>smartguides.  That was what I needed.  Thank you so much.

Suzette,

Are you unable to see where it is on the Artboard/in the Workspace unless you use the buttons? And is the issue only with Illy?

If so, you may try the following (you may have tried/done some of them already) and see whether it helps:

1) Close down Illy and open again;

2) Restart the computer;

3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup;

4) Move the folder with Illy closed;

5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options;

Even more seriously, you may:

6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool, and reinstall.

Just for the sake of someone reading this post, I am using Illustrator CC 2014 and if you select the Anchor Point Tool (under the pen tool) the X,Y coordinates will show in the Info viewer (Window > Info) as you move the cursor so it is possible to quickly see any position of any anchor.

That's much simpler and accurate that reading numbers in the ruler. Thanks!
