I think you mean "overset" text, and you can select it by placing the cursor after the last character you see, then pressing Cmd (Ctrl on Windows) + Shift + End.
But, even better, you can switch to Story Editor (Cmd or Ctrl +Y) and SEE the overset text before you decide what you want to do with it.

Depends on your keyboard, but you should have either a key labeled End between the Delete and Page Down keys on a standard keyboard, or on a laptop you might need to press the function key to access it as a secondary use of some other key, which means that shortcut probably won't work. You can, however, probably create a new custom shortcut set and define a new shortcut that will work (have to run out, so I can't test for you).
I found the key, and hurra, it works, every thing is ok.
