I am able to view, download, and save PDF files with no problem, but I can't view my online bank statement. There is no PDF link on the page - it opens automatically in PCs with Adobe Reader installed. I have the latest version of Adobe Reader, but I still can't view my bank statement!
I looked at the LABs Workaround on this page: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/908/cpsid_90885.html but didn't find anything helpful.
I have Safari 5.1.2 and I really don't want to go back to 5.0 even if I could. I was not able to download the Firefox plugin from LABs and use Firefox. The installer would not open.
I can't download my bank statement since no PDF opens and there is no PDF link on the page.
I've tried the Adobe Reader Updater http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=10&platform=Macintosh, but when it asks me to choose the application to update, the Adobe Reader application is grayed out.
I found a fix - at least for FireFox. I deleted the Adobe PDF Viewer plugin from the Library and reinstalled Adobe Reader without deleting the old one. Now when I access my bank statement in FireFox, I get a window that asks me if I want to download it. Don't know why this doesn't happen with Safari.
I removed Adobe Reader completely. I did a Google search for documents that say "Adobe Reader Required" and only found one other document besides my bank statement that I could not view with Preview when using Safari. Even when I use FireFox to view my statement, it opens in Preview.
