The per user settings are held in the following registry location:
There is a hexadecimal value named iSnapshotResolution which contains the resolution for the Snapshot Tool. Also a parameter called bUseFixedSnapshotResolution which needs to be set to 1 to switch the feature on or 0 to disable the feature.
This is a per user setting but I believe Reader checks the per machine location
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Acrobat Reader 10.0\Selection
Presumably you can put the same values into the HKLM section (it doesn't exist by default) so you will need to create the Selection key.
Hope this makes sense.

Thanks for your reply! I was able to verify the registry settings for Acrobat Reader 10.x. How about version 9.x? Any suggestions?
I think the settings should be the same for Adobe Reader 9, but I cannot be sure because I only tested it on Reader 10.
You can test it by setting up Reader 9 on a test machine, then unchecking/checking the Use Fixed Snapshot resolution tickbox. You will see the values in the registry change as you change and apply them in the dialog box.
Already tried and no joy.
What version of Reader 9 are you using? 9.x?
Did a registry search and found the following:
bUseFixedSnapshotResolution set to 1
iSnapshotResolution set to 0x0000012c
Thanks for your help again!
Be sure to set it in HKLM if you are using it in an image, otherwise it won't apply to all users.
Or you could just apply it post imaging using a .reg file with regedit.exe /s switch.
Glad it helped.
