I guess you are talking about Adobe Reader, as there is no program called Adobe X.
You may want to try the following:
Run this fix from Microsoft: http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
Uninstall all traces of any versions of Reader using Add/Remove Programs
If you want to reinstall Reader, download it from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
I did that and now have the reader on my computer. Problem 2 is that, from what I gather, it did not register in the registry, so it is not listed as a default program for which I can choose. How do you add programs to the default list of programs when the computer will not recognize it. I have been through the add sequence many times now.,
THanks for the help.
Can you be a little bit more specific on what you are trying to do? Are you trying to make Adobe Reader the default program for PDF files?
That should happen automatically when you install the Reader. Did you install it as an Administrator user?
Please try and repair the application from within the Control Panel.
