1. Re: Air Help not a valid option for some projects?
Jeff_Coatsworth Jan 30, 2012 1:18 PM (in response to Tech Writer KC)Have you checked Peter Grainge's site on doing this? He says that it's a bit more complicated than "regular" WebHelp merged projects, I believe.

2. Re: Air Help not a valid option for some projects?
Peter Grainge Jan 30, 2012 1:23 PM (in response to Tech Writer KC)You are talking about browser based AIR help and you are saying that in RoboHelp 9 you are not seeing AIR as an option to create the layout?

3. Re: Air Help not a valid option for some projects?
Tech Writer KC Jan 30, 2012 1:30 PM (in response to Jeff_Coatsworth)Yes, his site says browser-based air is the same as webhelp, and he has a brief article on making desktop air merged projects. I'm also going off what's in the RH help on building merged Air help systems.
The issue is that Air doesn't show up *at all* as an output option for the child projects. Everything else does - webhelp/pro, flashhelp, chm, etc. - but not Air. AFAIK, the parent/child difference is the only thing distinguishing the parent project from the others, which is what's making me think that there's a setting or something involved.

4. Re: Air Help not a valid option for some projects?
Tech Writer KC Jan 30, 2012 1:25 PM (in response to Peter Grainge)Correct - when I went into the parent project and select File | Project Settings, Air shows up on the output dropdown. On all of the children projects, it doesn't appear.
These are all RH9 projects that are currently building fine as webhelp projects.

5. Re: Air Help not a valid option for some projects?
Peter Grainge Jan 30, 2012 1:30 PM (in response to Tech Writer KC)Try right clicking in the SSL pod to create a new layout. Project Settings only shows the layouts that are in the project so that you can set the default. Pretty pointless really as you can also do that in the SSL pod.

6. Re: Air Help not a valid option for some projects?
Tech Writer KC Jan 30, 2012 1:34 PM (in response to Peter Grainge)It's not showing up there, either. Only the same options available from the output dropdown in the project settings window.
Edit: Nevermind, I misread what you wrote. I created a new layout. Not sure why it wasn't there by default - we've never created Air projects before, so I'm a bit puzzled why it shows up for the parent project but not any others.
Thanks, tho!

7. Re: Air Help not a valid option for some projects?
Peter Grainge Jan 31, 2012 12:19 AM (in response to Tech Writer KC)Perhaps in the parent because either that was created when AIR was a format offered in RoboHelp or someone found the new layout screen and added AIR without proceeding further.
