I have a similar or the same issue. I currently have the latest version of Flash and I'm on Windows 7 64 bit. To me, this happens in both Firefox and IE9. Here's some details.
I listen to ESPN on my computer, here's the link... http://espn.go.com/espnradio/play?s=espn When I do this in Firefox, I get a blank screen and I can't play the live feed. When I do it thru IE, I get a blank screen with the following message... "You need to have the Adobe Flash Player 9.0.115 to view this content" I click on this link, add the flash player and now the ESPN feed will work in both FF and IE. Once I shut my computer down and go back to ESPN, I have to do this all over again. I have to load this flash player every time. I know this is an older version of the player but why do I need the old version?
IS this a problem with the site or my player?
As far as errors messages go that is similar to what I am seeing, although I am not able to get it working at all.
I just did a COMPLETE uninstall and reinstall using this link... http://forums.adobe.com/message/4041846#4041846
It seems to be working for me now. Make sure to completely delete all files like it recommends in that link. That may have been my problem... I'll keep you posted.
