Maybe it's just me but everytime after starting up Premiere Pro and looking at my h264 clips in the project Premiere Pro always takes time to generate the thumbnail previews. I don't mean in the timeline but in the windows of where clips viewed in the project. Once they are visable/generated you can close and open the window and they appear instantly.
However if I close Premiere Pro down and restart and open the same project and then open up the already imported files in the project and view as thumbnails it then goes and takes time again to generte them all over again.
Maybe I've missed an option some where to store or cache these previews, would love to, atleast to save a little time.
Any input would be great.
Yes that is normal behaviour.
Thumbnails need to be regenerated.
The more clip the more time it takes.
Thanks for your reply. Do you know if there is somewhere this can be logged as a feature request?
It does seem styrange as other NLE's I have used in the past, always retain thumbnail previews between the restarts of the NLE application.
