ok, first question, are your fonts embedded or are you relying on device fonts?
I am new to flex ( a few days...) and I don't know the difference between embedded and device. I have not done anything special with fonts at all thus far - so whatever the default is.
I used a tutorial to create a simple rss reader using flex. The output is not even legible. Also, some other Flex applications I view don't display type correctly either.
For example, when viewing ( http://flex.org/showcase ),]http://flex.org/showcase/),[/L] the "loading" animation contains text, but for me only the top of the letters are visible, or somehow the text is so obscured I can't read it. This is the case with every loading animation.
Any ideas or feedback you have is appreciated - I'm quite lost at this point. Thanks again!
Ok I loaded Safari, but I can see that link just fine. so yeah, looks like you toasted something on the back end....
What's suitcase Fusion?
Suitcase Fusion is a font management app. I probably moved some fonts that I shouldn't have during the Fusion install. If this has happened to anyone else, or if you know which fonts Flex needs to operate - please let me know. Thanks again!
Can you just copy all your font files back into the main Windows (Mac?) font folder?
Bingo. I was able to replace the default system fonts from my other machine. Now it looks just fine.
Thanks for the help!
