I am trying to do a data merge in InDesign CS5 to make an employee directory. I have placed the employee information into a google docs spreadsheet and downloaded it as a csv file. I was partly successful once in getting the file into the document, but it wasn’t complete. More specifically, not all the titles of the columns loaded into the data merge box. One was missing and it was the photos column. In the spreadsheet I titled the photos column like this: @photos
I have tried many times since, but now nothing happens at all when I select the data source. I’ve even rebooted my computer, but it didn’t help. Thanks for any help. Merissa
If Google Docs is like Excel, you may need to title that column as '@photos in your spreadsheet. (the apostrophe before the @ prevents the spreadsheet from seeing the @ as an operator.)
Thanks so much, I'll give that a try.
