The end result from a developer's perspective for Flex 3 is the same - a SWF file that plays in Flash Player 9.
Why can't you use Flex 3? Is it the customer who is specifically requesting Flex 2? Why can't they use Flex 3?
You may be able to get it from here:
The customer has already approved Flex 2 and although I know that the approval of Flex 3 is in the pipeline. Once approved no client has the budget to invest in upgrading simply for upgrading's sake, and I need to be able to deliver Flex 2 applications in the interim. I've downloaded the file in your link, but remain sceptical of the support lifecycle for Flex 3 going forward. If Adobe were so quick to drop support for Flex 2, what does that tell us about the future?
I agree, this is just ridiculous.
