the difference is the name "stratus.adobe.com" is deprecated and will be removed from the DNS someday. the proper DNS name to use is "p2p.rtmfp.net". please see the announcement at the top of the forum that's been there since april 7 2011.
all of the different names that the Codename Cirrus service has point to the same cluster of servers and same actual service. there is no functional difference, other than if you use "stratus.adobe.com" or "stratus.rtmfp.net" in your application, it will stop working someday.
"stratus.adobe.com" and "stratus.rtmfp.net" will be removed from the DNS and will stop working someday.
"p2p.rtmfp.net" is the correct and preferred DNS name to use. there are no plans to remove or change it. the IP addresses and UDP port numbers that the service uses are subject to change at any time, so you should always use the DNS name and make no assumptions about UDP port numbers (other than UDP port 1935). note that the IP addresses and UDP port numbers used by the service have changed several times over the years.
thank you for your reply.
I have another question to ask you . for example, there are three different people A ,B and C in three different places.
A and B can make a direct p2p connection with each other . B and C also can make a direct p2p connection with each other. But A and C can not make a direct p2p connection with each other. why?
I test on the following sample:
direct P2P connections are not always possible because of the different kinds of NAT and firewall configurations in the Internet. this subject is discussed in greater detail in this posting:
