    My .FLV and .MOV files do not work when I publish my website

      Hi,

      I am new to Dreamweaver, and am trying to publish a .flv video or .mov file (I have tried both versions) to my website and neither work. I talked to my host and they said that everything looked fine on their end, so I think the problem is my novice coding. On my computer, the page and file appears fine (in a preview browser), but when I publish the page, it does not work and I get a server error (that says the file was skipped). I looked around on other Adobe forum posts, but still haven’t found a way to make it work.

      This is the code I have tried for the .flv file via Dreamweaver CS4s FLV insert feature:

      <object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" width="360" height="264" id="FLVPlayer">
      <param name="movie" value="FLVPlayer_Progressive.swf" />
      <param name="quality" value="high">
      <param name="wmode" value="opaque">
      <param name="scale" value="noscale">
      <param name="salign" value="lt">
      <param name="FlashVars" value="&amp;MM_ComponentVersion=1&amp;skinName=Clear_Skin_1&amp;streamName=Julia_Blankens hip_Demo_small&amp;autoPlay=true&amp;autoRewind=true" />
      <param name="swfversion" value="8,0,0,0">
      <!-- This param tag prompts users with Flash Player 6.0 r65 and higher to download the latest version of Flash Player. Delete it if you don’t want users to see the prompt. -->
      <param name="expressinstall" value="Scripts/expressInstall.swf">
      <!-- Next object tag is for non-IE browsers. So hide it from IE using IECC. -->
      <!--[if !IE]>-->
      <object type="application/x-shockwave-flash" data="FLVPlayer_Progressive.swf" width="360" height="264">
      <!--<![endif]-->
      <param name="quality" value="high">
      <param name="wmode" value="opaque">
      <param name="scale" value="noscale">
      <param name="salign" value="lt">
      <param name="FlashVars" value="&amp;MM_ComponentVersion=1&amp;skinName=Clear_Skin_1&amp;streamName=Julia_Blankens hip_Demo_small&amp;autoPlay=true&amp;autoRewind=true" />
      <param name="swfversion" value="8,0,0,0">
      <param name="expressinstall" value="Scripts/expressInstall.swf">
      <!-- The browser displays the following alternative content for users with Flash Player 6.0 and older. -->
      <div>
      <h4>Content on this page requires a newer version of Adobe Flash Player.</h4>
      <p><a href="http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer"><img src="http://www.adobe.com/images/shared/download_buttons/get_flash_player.gif" alt="Get Adobe Flash player" /></a></p>
      </div>
      <!--[if !IE]>-->
      </object>
      <!--<![endif]-->
      </object>

      This is the code I used for the .mov files:

      <object classid="clsid:02bf25d5-8c17-4b23-bc80-d3488abddc6b" width="320"height="180"

      codebase="http://www.apple.com/qtactivex/qtplugin.cab">

      <param name="src" value="JBDemosm.mov">

      <param name="autoplay" value="false">

      <param name="controller" value="true">

      <embed src="JBDemosm.mov" width="320" height="180" autoplay="false" controller="true" pluginspage="http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/">

      </embed>

      </object>

      Thank you for any help you can give! (I hope this is just coding error and an easy fix.)
