A bit more info, if it helps. Apparently, the codec for the .mov files created by the 7D is h264. My operating system is Windows 7.

DSLR video clips weren't really supported until PRE9.
- Are they loading to the Elements Organizer OK? If so, then what Project Setting are you using when creating your PRE project?
- Analyse your clips with GSpot or MediaInfo and post the screenshots here.

Do you have the latest version of Apple's QT Player installed? That should install the H.264 CODEC.
Also, as camera mfgrs. tweak their CODEC's, you probably have a copy of the Canon H.264 on the utility disc, that came with the camera. The Canon H.264 CODEC might be a separate install, might install with the camera's driver, or, more likely, install with the Canon "Browser" or editor utility, on that disc. Even if you do not use that/those utility program(s), install it/them, to make sure that you have the Canon H.264.
Thanks for the help. After first finding a work-around -- converting the files to mp4 -- I then went back to download the latest QT Player to see ifthat would allow me to load the original files. It appeared to work.
Nealeh, in answer to your question, I was previously not even able to load those files to the Elements Organizer.
Great news! Glad that things worked.
Good luck, and happy editing,
