I have Adobe Acrobat Pro X installed on an HP desktop running Windows Vista. My software worked great until a computer repair guy came and reinstalled a spare hard drive in our computer. Now we are getting a pop-up window from Adobe every time we try to access a pdf document. The pop up window says "An internal error occurred." I have already uninstalled and reinstalled my Adobe software, same result. Any suggestions?
Since the reinstall did not do the job, you may have to repeat it with some additional steps. After the uninstall, remove the Acrobat folder entirely. Then run a registry cleaner. Use the MS one if you can find it (MS took it off their web site) or try CCleaner. Once that is done, reboot and try the install again. If that does not fix the problem then there may be something else messed up.
