corrupted wav-file - Director hangs up

    Level 7
      Hi

I'm plaing extrenal music files from my director application, using command

      sound(1).playfile (path to selected file)

When wav-file, which I want to play is corrupted (it can not be opened with
Winamp, other players and can not be imported into Director cast with Import
command) and I use playfile, my application hangs up.

Is it any way to check if specific extrenal wave file can be played and just
      then start it?
Or can I somehow prevent the hanging up of the apllication?

      Any help will be appreciated

I'm not sure how you could check if a file is corrupted or not with
Director, but why are you trying to play corrupted files anyway? If
you've got a file that's not playable by anything, why keep it?

            I have a mp3-player written in director
User of the application selects files from the HD by himself, so i can not
check whether files he has selected are good or not furing authoring, it
            should be done in runtime

Does it crash upon importing, or when you play the file?

One thing I noticed with corrupt files in casts, the cast member's File size
reads 0. I wonder if you could check for the member's file size before
playing it (after importing)? Just a shot in the dark...
