for a project in InDesign I created - using the rectangle tool - a background for an object. To make it nicer I added a bunch of effects like shadow, etc. Now I would like than to add an overlay pattern on it (a grid). In Photoshop this can be easily done within the effects, but in InDesign I can't figure out how to do it or whether this is possible at all.
I could use a dirty trick to achieve my goal, but since I need to replicate this a lot of of pages with all kind of different shapes and sizes I'm looking for a clean way to do this.
I'm using InDesign CS5.
Can somebody help me ?
Thanks a lot in advance!
This is what I am trying to achieve:
You can't do it with effects in ID. You need to create your grid object, ither in ID, or probaly easier in Illustrator, then Place, or Paste Into your styled frame.
