I'm rendering out some frames sequences from a 3d app, and to save on render time I dont render out frames that are static or empty. So my frame ranges look something like this: 0,140-500,2000-2500.
Now to easily align the frames up again in AE, I import the frames without forcing the alphabetical order meaning that I will get placeholders for the missing frames. So is there a way to disable the placeholders and showing nothing instead?
Split the layer at the placeholders and delete 'em. The result: a comp with more layers, and temporal gaps between successive layers where the placeholders used to be.
thats a neat trick, cheers for that.
