Jack_Harich Feb 21, 2012 9:51 AM (in response to Larry G. Schneider)Larry,
Thanks!
No. I did a support call this morning. Reinstalls from a DVD and a
download both failed to solve the problem. He did not suggest the
cleaner step.
I did check to see that Program Files (x86)/Adobe/Adobe Illustrator
CS5.1 was empty after uninstalling AI 5. Then I deleted it.
So what I've done is uninstalled AI CS5 again. Then I downloaded the
cleaner. Here's what it says:
"List of products installed on this machine:
1. Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 Family
2. Adobe Photoshop CS5
3. Adobe Dreamweaver CS5.5
4. Clean All."
It thus appears there is no way to clean just AI. So I quit the cleaner.
I will report to the forum on how Adobe support fixes this problem. I'm
now awaiting their reply on the case.
Thanks so much. Wish I could help you!

3. Re: "Save for web and devices" missing in File menu
bdalewk May 1, 2012 10:25 AM (in response to Jack_Harich)I'm having the exact same problems. It took five hours, with Adobe support controlling my PC, to install CS5. That included running the CS5 Cleaner Tool. Now when opening Illustrator I get the same error, "Error loading plugins. DxfDwg.aip PNGFileFormat.aip". And I'm also missing "Save for Web and devices", something I use quite a lot. Adobe thinks it's some kind of permissions problem on my end, even though I'm an administrator on the machine. The only way I can properly use Illustrator is to log off my network and log onto the machine locally, a solution that's less than convenient, to put it mildly. It is good to know that I'm not the only one experiencing the problems, and hopefully Adobe will come up with a fix.
