I have successfully captured both video formats in two separate projects. I don't have a problem with editing or bringing the two formats on the same timeline. My problem is with the 1080p video, there's a black outline around the 1080p video, the 720p video fully fits the screen in the source and program window. The 1080p video fits in the source window perfectly but it does not fit perfectly in the program window, I tried to hit the fit tab, that didn't work. I tried the scale option but that didn't work. Do you have any suggestions? How do I merge two different video types and make them look identical, how do I make them both fit the screen, how do I get rid of the black around the edge of the 1080p video?
If this helps, the 720p video is 1280x720 and the 1080p video is 720x480.... If that helps
1080p is never 720 x 480, this is 480 SD. 1080 material is 1920 x 1080 with square pixels. So, edit everything in a 720 x 480 SD sequence and use scale to frame size for everything 1280 x 720, effectively downrezzing. That is way better than uprezzing 480 (not 1080!!!) material.
PS. I didn't answer to your question earlier, because the question made no sense. Your second post made it a lot clearer. How easy it is to get misunderstandings when terms are confused, 1080 versus SD.
