You will find that Presets are your friend just as they are in the app GUI… Make one that has use document bleeds & include slug area enabled along with all you other requirments… You can then access them presets with your script… Much easier…
i get that, its the terminology thats the problem!
Ok here is a very basic example, what it will expect as is… A PDF preset Kevins S&B and its just going to loose the 'indd' and replace with 'pdf'
set savePath to (path to desktop as text)
tell application "Adobe InDesign CS5"
if (count of documents) > 0 then
set pdfPre to PDF export preset "Kevins S&B"
tell the active document
set docPDF to savePath & (text items 1 thru -5 of (name as text)) & "pdf"
export format PDF type to docPDF using pdfPre
The path to commands are Applescript standard stuff
cool thanks, i tell you whats confusing me are the abbreviations, im looking at your code, and it seems the green parts are abbreviations that you can make up yourself?? as ive changed them and it still works.
Variables ( stored values ) not abbreviations… Can you make them up yourself? Well to some degree you can they can't be any words/terms of the app…
