I have few doubts in Adobe Indesign CS 5.5. When I run the script to modify a book, it runs successfully and modifies the data correctly. But later when i open the document to edit it, the system responds very slow when I type a single alphabet. Also the running time of the script takes only 15-20 min's in one system and in another it takes hardly 2-2.30 hours. Is this due to the space occupied in the temp folder during the process?..
May i know, whether this is reason for this problem or anything else? can u explain the huge time difference between the two systems? how to decrease the temp files space? and how to increase the Application execution spead?
Thanks and Regards,
@Vetri – amount of usable memory and processor speed, I think, make the difference.
If you run the script make sure that only InDesign is running…
Also: number of available fonts in InDesign could diminish memory performance drastically, open only the document(s) you want to act upon, do a "save as" before running the script, turn offr "Preflight", "Live Screen Drawing", "Spell Checking" etc. pp.
The best way to improve it is to show us the script.
