Top Menu vs Menu Remote in Bluray Authoring.

      Hello.

I got very confuse with these two. When I'm authoring blu-ray, every Timeline Properties has this "Menu Remote". Which in my understanding. Whenever we press the Menu button on the remote during playback, it will jump back to the Menu. However, blu-ray doesn't have Menu remote, it only has Top Menu. And when I press the Top Menu remote button on my blu-ray player, I got message "There Is No Top Menu" and it won't let me go back to the Menu. ( neither Main Menu nor Sub-Menu). So I just have to skip chapters all the way to the end of the Timeline, then it will go back to Menu. (because I set Timeline Properties End Action to go to Menu).

Anybody can help me clear this out? Thanks in advance for any effort in replying.

This may help.  I checked a recent project that was just a simple 1 menu 1 title blu-ray.

(in the Flowchart view in Encore)  When I click on the disc icon, the disc properties tab opens up.  The Title Button is set to "menu:Default".  When I click on the timeline icon, the properties tab shows that the Menu Remote is set to "Return to Last Menu".

I checked the disc in a Sony BDP-S360 and a Toshiba BDX1200 machine to see if things worked like they should.  Both remotes for these machines have a Top Menu button.  When pressed during playback of the title, it goes back to the menu.  Both remotes also have a Pop-Up/Menu button that naturally does nothing for this particular blu-ray.

I have seen the error come up when running the "Check Project" about the Title Button not being set, but this was for a dvd that had no menu, so I could just ignore it and burn the disc.  Check your disc properties to see if something is wrong in there.
