I'm writing a script that creates a layer and places guides on them. When exported the guides will appear in the PDF.
The one thing I noticed is to get them to export they need to be visible (View:Grids & Guides:show Guides).
I thought by making them visible in the created layer that that would work...but no
Is there a way to show guides on the document (incase another user has them hidden
Show/hide is a GuidePreference: http://jongware.mit.edu/idcsjs5.5/pc_GuidePreference.html
but that only is half of the story. You need to hide the baseline grid (just in case a user prefers to have it "on") -- soory, can't seem to find a setting for that-- Browse around the reference help a bit, will ya. It should be *somewhere*, non?
It's important to switch off the baseline grid, because the PDF Export preference to make guides "printable" also does so for the baseline grid: http://jongware.mit.edu/idcsjs5.5/pc_PDFExportPreference.html#exportGuidesAndGrids
