Are you running the 64-bit version of version 10?
How is the Auto Analyzer configured in the Elements Organizer's Edit/Preferences?
Have you manually checked Windows Updates to ensure you have even the non-critical updates. (You can pick up some important drivers and support files doing this.)
Have you gone to the Organizer's Help menu and selected Check for Updates?
yes, killing the exe & restarting it cleared the problem
it analyzed the clip & i clicked OK
now, it has gone on to consume my machine (4G memory)
not sure what it is doing?
should i just kill it?
i killed it & got 7G of memory back...
It depends on your clip length and the complexity of the scenes. After I did the screenshot above I let it finish analyzing that file (2GB, 9'14"). It finished a few moments ago (around 45 minutes). My machine is an older Quad Core PC @ 2.40GHz, 4GB RAM W7-64.
Insanity is hereditary, you get it from your children
It also depends on how you've got it set up in the Elements Organizer's preferences.
i have it set not to run unless i ask
And when it does, which charateristics do you have it set to scan for?
i left all the deafults, alhto i can't check right now as everytime i click 'organize' nothing happens
have to reboot, but can't at the moment
